Ga North MCE, Simons Sekyim assures Ofankor, Asofan communities Astroturf parks

Ga North MCE, Simons Sekyim and Member of Parliament, Moses Anim donate items to Traditional Authorities.

The Municipal Chief Executive Ga North Municipality, Simons Sekyim has promised traditional authorities in the municipality to build Astroturf parks at Ofankor and Asofan communities. The Asofan Astroturf facility he said comes with a gym.

He made the declaration Monday December 18, 2023 during an end of Year get together meeting with the Association of Traditional Chiefs and Queen Mothers in the Municipality at Nii Ofankor's palace, Asofan.

The meeting was a collaborative exchange to mark the end of the year activities and interact new plans for the New Year, among others.

Discussion from the chiefs allured to issues of security in the Municipality, the Asofan M/A School fence wall, a sign post for the newly commissioned  court building edifice at Asofan as well as the Ayawaso foot bridge.

Hon. Sekyim in his deliberations emphatically assured the chiefs and queens their concerns have been eminently noted.

According to the Hon. MCE, the Assembly has not stayed reluctant to the issues raised but he is working tirelessly to solve those issues. He added that the challenge of the Assembly are financial constraints because of renting the Assembly building and the others offices.

The Municipal Chief Executive further explained the plans of the Assembly for next year.

“We want to assure you that next year the Assembly is taking full responsibilities of the issues listed. The Assembly is already working on those projects but the challenged was funds and IGF (Internal Generated Funds) is not enough to take care of all the projects, but it was low and work assiduously to improve next year.”

“The exciting news is that we have made a budget to cover all the items listed and the projects will be completed next year”, he said.

Hon. MCE in addition added the activities the Assembly will embark on in his plans.

“The Asofan M/A School fence wall, a new Police Station office is to be built at Ayawaso town, an Astroturf at Ofankor park, a sign post for the court, another Astroturf with a gym at Asofan, and the Contractor for the foot bridge at Ayawaso is resuming to site Wednesday December 20, 2023”, Chief added.

To compliment what the Assembly will do for the Municipality, Hon Simons Sekyim declared the efforts of himself and the Member of Parliament for Trobu Constituency, Hon. Moses Anim a lobby for a GetFund fund to build a new classroom block for pupils in Crèche and Nursery at Asofan MA School.

The Municipal Chief Executive in collaboration with the Member of Parliament donated items such as bags of rice, cartons of oil, tin tomatoes paste, pack of mackerel, boxes of water, and drinks to the chiefs and Queen Mothers. 

The Hon. Municipal Chief Executive expressed his gratitude for the unity among the Traditional Authorities and the Assembly and pleaded that these relationship should continue to exist between the two parties.

Among the meeting were the Associations of Chiefs in Ga North Municipality, the  Hon. MCE, Simons Sekyim , Management Staff and the party Chairman.
