MP for Trobu Constituency and Ga North MCE Commission Abensu, New Achimota Presby Schools Projects

Commission of Abensu Nursery project

The Member of Parliament of Trobu Constituency, Honourable Moses Anim and the Municipal Chief Executive of Ga North Municipality, Honourable Simons Sekyim have on Tuesday January 23, 2024 commissioned the Abensu and New Achimota Presby Schools projects.

The projects are to ensure quality education service delivery to the citizenry in the municipality.

The Abensu school project consists of a nursery school complex and a primary storey building.

The New Achimota Presby School edifice at Mile 7 is a Six Unit Classroom Block and one storey office complex.

During the commissioning, the Member of Parliament advised the teachers and the community to take good care of the school to serve its purpose.

“Education, I believe is a key to success. The facility here is built to support pupils in the municipality to support and improve their education”, he said.

“It is also important to practice maintenance culture if the facility is to last and serve its purpose”, Hon Anim added.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Simons Sekyim commended the Member of Parliament for his contribution to education in the municipality.

According to the MCE, his collaboration with the Member of Parliament and the Municipal Director of Education have assisted his work in the municipality.

“Many thanks to the Honourable Member of Parliament for his enormous support to education in the municipality and his continuation to do more”, he said.

“Many of the school blocks in the municipality are of his support. Every year he organizes mock examination to prepare students going to write the BECE and also supporting pensioners in the municipality”, Hon. Simons added.

Hon. Simons further said development is a collaborative work. Therefore, he edged stakeholders in the municipality to as well support in education.

The Municipal Director of Education, Mr Esther Jones Sarfo also applauded the MCE and the Member of Parliament for their efforts in pushing education in the Ga North Municipality to a different level.

“It is appreciative the kind of work Honourable MP and MCE have done as they aspire to make Ga North an education hub. Through their massive backing, most of our schools in the municipality are fenced with walls and bore holes constructed”, she said.

The Headmistress of New Achimota Presby School, Mrs Brigit Donkor, stated her excitement for the new building and said it has relieved the school population burden of more than 700 pupils, and pleaded they should build a bore hole for the school.

At the commission was the Member of Parliament, Hon. Moses Amim, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Simons Sekyim, the Assembly Member of Abensu, Hon. Nuhu Mohamed, the Headmistress of New Achimota Presby School and delegation of the Municipal Assembly.
