Ayawaso: Erosion Gullies cause threat to life of adults and children
People at Ayawaso in the Ga North Municipality's life is in a threat to gullies caused by heavy rainfall perennially.
School children suffer the most when it rains. They have to stop going to school because it is the root to their schools especially the government pupils.
IG-TECH MEDIA NETWORK yesterday visited the community and in an interview with some of the people living around said it is sad when it rains.
"We have bought gravels and used pebble's severally. Upon all the efforts we have tried we cannot control the problem", Mr Kwadwo Amaning said.
"The gullies are too deep to cover and when you even do that, when it rains the erosion will carry them away because the gradient of water is very heavy", Nana Boateng, a resident lamented.
The people said they have tried every effort and initiative but it is not working.
Some attributed the problem to a road plan in the community that the government has to construct which will enable gutters to be constructed and enable proper channel of the water to flow into its destination when it rains but they have not heard anything since they complained to the MP, Honourable Moses Annim and pasted MCE, Madam Gertrude at GA North.
They are calling on the government to come to their aid before something bad happens.
