Sad news hit in the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Cameroon as stampede caused the lives of fans, 6 dead and more than 40 hospitalised.

The stampede happened as crowds struggled to get access to Olembe Stadium in the Cameroon capital of Yaounde to watch the host country play Comoros in a last 16 knockout game in Africa's top soccer tournament".
Officials nearby Messassi hospital said that they received at least 40 injured people during the stampede.
"Some of the injured are in desperate condition," Olinga Prudence, a nurse said.
"We will have to evacuate them to a specialized hospital", she said.
Soccer officials said about 50,000 people tried to attend the match. The stadium has only 60,000 capacity and was not meant to be more than 80% full for the game due to restrictions on the coronavirus pandemic.
The game was between Cameroon and Comoros in the knockout stage.
Comeroon beat Comoros 2-1 to qualify to the quarterfinals.
