Update: Minister for Lands and Natural Resources orders investigation into Bogoso-Apiate Explosion



Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Hon. John Abu Jinapor has asked for investigation into Bogoso-Apiate Explosion and has directed the Chief Executive Officer of the Mineral Commission to suspend the license of Maxam Limited, a mining services contractor.

“Further, the Hon Minister has directed the Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Commission, with immediate effect, to interdict the registration of Maxam Company Limited with the Minerals Commission, thereby precluding the company from the manufacture, transportation, and/or supply of explosives for mining operations,” portion of the press statement said.

Apiate on Thursday January 20, 2022 faced an unfortunate tragedy of a truck explosion carrying Dynamites for supply to Chirano mining company.

Apiate truck explosion has left a deep Man-whole on the road

60 people injured, 42 receiving treatment and 17 confirmed dead.
