The Former President of the Southern Ghana Union Conference of Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church and Chaplain at Valley View University, Techiman Campus, Pastor Peter Osei Mensah, a Preacher at the Ofankor District of SDA annual joint service in Accra, has charged church members to stay focused, be faithful in prayer and stay together if they want to succeed in the New Year, 2024.

He said the former leaders of the Christian faith went through many trials who later got afraid but God charged them, “fear not”, He is with them.

“Many a time Christians lose faith in God because they forget to do earnest prayer. But God tells you, fear not”, he said.

As prayer is a way of connecting to God, Chaplain P. O. Mensah empowered the congregation to always connect their cordless phone to God’s power and gain full energy to fight any obstacles or burdens overweighing them.

“All power belongs to Almighty God so ask God. Believers, never let anything threaten your service with God because He is living.”

“Gird yourself with prayer, the battle is the Lord’s, and every problem of pain, anger, blast faming, rejection, depression, stress, and disunity, among others, will be taken care by God”, Pastor Mensah said.

Pastor P. O. Mensah further employed the church members to use their God given talent well for the glory of God and do away with obstructions that hinder the through obligation to the service of God.

Church Congregation

“Everyone here is unique in the service of God. Use your talent for the service of God. As a church you should think beyond personal differences. The devil is not excited when God’s people are together, strong and united.”

“Do not allow obstacles block the success of the church and your duties whether Choir, Singing Band or as congregation. Work together for the purpose of God’s work and you will be blessed because you have found the true God”, he said.

The Divine Service preaching reflected on Luke 11: 11, 12 that reads, 11“If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? 12Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?”

In ending the sermon, Pastor P. O. Mensah reflected on Luke 11: 13 which states that, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”

“Those who honestly ask God receives so ask God for your needs, and to be powerful in 2024 needs prayer and togetherness.”

Women Ministry

“Pray without season, connect in prayer with God and your anger and pain, your evangelism and business, the life struggles, the sinking church, marriages and the relationship among the children of God will never be the same”, Pastor P. O. Mensah challenged the congregation.

He activated the spirit of the congregation to connect with God in prayer and ask him whatever they want.

The Pastor in charge of Ofankor District Church of SDA, Pastor Manu Awuah expressed his profound appreciation to the 11 churches in the district with the momentum they participated in the one week prayer conference and revival as they soldier on into the New Year.

He prayed for God’s blessings and protection to the church members, families and Ghanaians.
