Ga Traditional Council ban all forms of noise making in Ga State ahead Homowo Festival

The President of the Ga North Chiefs and Queen Mother’s Association (GNCQMA), Nii Kortey Boi II, Ofankor Mantse made this announcement on April 29, 2024 in a press conference at Ayalolo Bus Terminal, Ofankor Barrier  on behalf of the Ga Mantse and the Ga Traditional Council. According to the statement, the Homowo festival commence with “SHIBAA”, the cleansing of sacred farms which began Monday April 29, 2024 and the ban of drumming and all forms of noise making which has today Monday, 6 th May, 2024, the “NMAA DUMO”. Ga North Department of Transport in collaboration with Road Safety Authority train commercial drivers in Ga North Municipality defensive driving

Commercial Drivers with Commander Cliff Offei, middle left, Ga North MCE, middle right The Ga North Municipal Transportation Department in collaboration with the Ghana Road Safety Authority Wednesday January 24, 2024 held a training programme at Ofankor Pentecost Church for commercial drivers in the municipality. The training was dubbed “Stop, Think and Drive”, is a road safety campaign which is a defensive driving training for commercial drivers. It is to build, reduce and improve road users behaviours and risk of involvement in road crashes. The Planning Manager in charge of Road Safety Training, Mr Felix Owusu underlined some common mistakes caused by drivers on the road. Commission of Abensu Nursery project The Member of Parliament of Trobu Constituency, Honourable Moses Anim and the Municipal Chief Executive of Ga North Municipality, Honourable Simons Sekyim have on Tuesday January 23, 2024 commissioned the Abensu and New Achimota Presby Schools projects. The projects are to ensure quality education service delivery to the citizenry in the municipality. The Abensu school project consists of a nursery school complex and a primary storey building. The New Achimota Presby School edifice at Mile 7 is a Six Unit Classroom Block and one storey office complex. Kpͻkεti and Fishing Business: The experience is enormous

  Kpͻkεti is situated along the Abe Lagoon in Ivory Coast. It lies south from Abiati, and east is Bianu where there is the Bia River that merges with the Abe Lagoon. The Abe Lagoon has its end around ε boε, another village in the area. Kpͻkεti is now a fishing territory for many dwellers such as Nzema, Anyi, Fante, French and other African tribes. Fishing is the major business in the area for many decades. It is what supports the livelihood and other warfare of the people. The fishing business is done throughout the week except Tuesdays which is forbidden and a holiday for fishermen. The Abe Lagoon in the night makes noise with its waves. The frogs in the swamps with their musical notes and stubborn babies are unheard in the night as they cry and disturb the sound sleep of parents.   It was around 3:35 pm in the afternoon. Everything was good in the day. The fishermen were at the river shore getting their nets and boats ready to work. They work on the Abe Lagoon, the only and main river for fishing and for domestic purposes. The river is also a route to many villages, even to Ghana. The workers of the fishermen brought in the paddles and outboard motors. They fixed them on the boats and tested the engines if they were functioning well. Later, the fishermen began taking off to cast their nets. Those who used small canoes did not need outboard motors, only the paddles. They also paddled along and cast their nets. Some of the women have finished cooking their supper and eaten whilst there were some still cooking. The ground suffered with the punches of pestles in the mortars by parents and their children because of fufu. As the day went by, everything folded smoothly. Everyone got something to do.
